There is always politics in my novels and the next one Her Artificial Heart looks at a tyrant with a conscience which acccording to the video is what used to be a monarch. This social class called “oligarchy” is popping up everywhere and has largely been missing from North American discussion. I wanted to know more and found Aristotle’s explanation which is brilliant. He explains the problem with democracy!! If you’re as depressed as me about why far right ideology is rising globally then this explains it…the ancient Greek version. What is the most interesting statement is Aristotle’s belief that once an oligarchy takes hold there are only two options out of it: tyranny or revolution.
